Paso Robles wines are some of the best in the world and there are many wonderful options for holiday parties, meals and even gifts. Luckily there is no shortage of fantastic white wines in Paso Robles. We received so many tasty white wines that we created a separate list for recommended Rhone-style white wines, sparkling wines and rosé wines. Pomar Junction 2015 Sauvignon Blanc – $28

Sextant 2015 Central Coast Chardonnay – $16
An excellent value for a solid chardonnay. The wine was fermented on 85-percent stainless steel and 15-percent neutral French oak barrels/It offers a vibrant nose of vanilla and mango. It tastes like ripe pineapple and tart apple with balanced acidity.

Tackitt Family Vineyards Gewurtraminer 2015 – $23
This is a balanced and not so sweet Gewurztraminer. It’s signature wine of Leon Tackitt. A fruity, spicy wine with hints of crisp pear and a smooth finish. This varietal is a holiday classic and great for any holiday party.

Top sparkling wines for the holidays

Here are our sparkling wine recommendations. Champagne has always been a popular choice for kicking off a holiday party or toasting to the new year. California’s Champagne-style sparkling wines make for excellent choices. From the several sparkling wines submitted, here are the ones we recommend. They are in alphabetical order. Bianchi Signature Selection Sparkling Wine – $18Champagne for holidays

The is a delightful 100-percent grenache blanc made in the “método tradicional.” The nose offers freshly shaved lemon zest with recently picked green apples, hints of toasted Brioche displays complexity. On the palate green apples lead the way into what becomes a complex array of flavor.

Laetitia Brut Cuvée – $25
This non-vintage effervescent sparkling wine is light and easy to drink. Tiny bubbles and a crisp finish make this sparkling a real crowd pleaser. Will pair well with a dessert or a fruit and cheese course.

Pomar Junction Sparkling White – $25
This Méthode Champenoise brut is made from 60-percent chardonnay, and 40-percent pinot noir grapes. This non-vintage wine is not sweet, nor is it dry, but rather is very well balanced with a round finish. Notes of citrus, grapefruit, and a uniquely light effervescence makes this sparkling a perfect match to a light meal pairing or a celebratory toast.

Best Paso Robles rosé wines for the holidays

Rosé has come along way from the white zinfandel I remember my relatives drinking at family get-togethers. Today’s Paso Robles’ rosés are sophisticated and delicious. These Paso Robles rosé wines will pair well with lighter faire, appetizers like prosciutto-wrapped melon, smoked salmon and deviled eggs. They will also go well with baked ham, pork tenderloin and white meat of roasted turkey. For all the holiday chefs out there, consider enjoying rosé wines yourself as your prepare holiday meals. Broken Earth Winery Grenache Rosé 2014 – $9.90
This wine has an array of delicate red berry fruit characters that flow through the palate and meld beautifully with the balancing bright acidity. Skin contact was used in fermentation to add a hint of firmness to the palate so the wine finishes clean in your mouth.

Burbank Ranch 2014 Zinfandel Rosé – $29
It might be nicknamed “Summer Dreams,” but this wine has lots to offer for the holiday season. The light rosé offers hints strawberry, raspberry and watermelon.

Pomar Junction Vineyard 2015 Syrah Rose – $20
This delightful rosé delivers flavors of pink cherries and strawberries. It’s dry, but very approachable. It’s perfect to drink on its own or serve at a holiday brunch.

Robert Hall Rosé de Robles 2015 – $14
A zesty rose with a light raspberry color and refreshing flavors of of berries and citrus. It’s a blend of syrah, grenache, cinsaut, mourvèdre and counoise. It recently won a double gold medal at the California State Fair Commercial Wine Competition. This a great wine to start a holiday party.

Shale Oak 2015 Rosé – $24
Grenache grapes take the lead in this dry rosé wine. It was held on the skins for 24 hours to achieve a light salmon color. Smell aromas of strawberry cream on the nose, and taste a dry finish with a little minerality. Its a great party starter with a low 12.2-percent alcohol.

Tackitt Family Vineyards Grenache Rosé – $22
A berry-hued wine with aromas of strawberry and rhubarb. It has a vibrant mouthfeel and flavors of apple blossoms and citrus zest.

Victor Hugo Les Mis 2015 Estate Rosé – $15
This rosé has a mild sweetness. It’s smooth with no dry ending, while still having a bright tang. It will pair well with a cool chicken salad and other light picnic foods.

Vina Robles 2015 Roseum – $16
This pink wine is packed with flavor and a great value. Its pressed from syrah grapes of the Paso Robles eastside’s Huerhuero Vineyard. It will pair well with quail, chicken, turkey and appetizers.

We received so many excellent white wines that we decided to showcase the Rhone-style white wines in one story and share the other top white wines in another installment of our best holiday wines series.

Eberle Winery 2015 ‘Mill Road Vineyard’ Viognier – $26
This wine has vibrant flavors of white peaches, melon and lemon zest with a clean finish. It will pair well with appetizers, pasta and seafood.

Four Lanterns Winery Lamplight 2015 Viognier – $28
This wine has great balance, minerality, and slight notes of pear and stone fruit. It has a wonderful round mouth feel. It would be perfect for spicy foods, poultry or fish.

It’s an excellent example of acid and richness in balance: this wine has a luxuriously creamy mouthfeel combined with vibrant acidity that tastes like Meyer lemon and white nectarine.

San Simeon Viognier 2015 – $19
This wine is a clear straw green color. It offers delicate, toasty, tropical aromas of pineapple and apricot. It has flavors of coconut macaroon, dried mango, and sweet and peppery spices. It finishes with moderate oak.

Seven Angels Cellars 2014 Unorthodox – $22
This Rhone-style white blend is mostly grenache blanc with viognier, picpoul blanc and marsanne, It won a silver medal at the 2016 San Francisco International Wine Competition. It has a light straw color, citrus and buttery notes, tart Asian pear flavors with a juicy finish. It would compliment holiday deserts like pumpkin pie and lemon bars.

Shale Oak 2014 Grenache Blanc – $38
This delicious wine has tart, green apple flavors. A good cooking wine – and by that we mean you should drink it while cooking. It’s also a great glass of wine with which to greet your guests at the door.

Summerwood Vin Blanc 2014 – $25
This Rhone-style wine is blend of roussanne and viognier from Hearthstone and Alta Colina Vineyards. It offers aromas of apricot and oranges. It has a soft mouthfeel with flavors of pears and citrus.

Treana Blanc 2014 – $30
A Central Coast blend of 45-percent viognier, 45-percent marsanne and 10-percent rousanne. It earned 92 points from Wine Enthusiast. It offers aromas of pineapple and orange with floral notes of honeysuckle and citrus blossom. It has a silky texture and stone fruit flavors. It’s a wonderful way to start your holidays.

Vina Robles White 4, 2015 – $16
Vina Robles proves a winery can deliver a solid wine at a reasonable price. This Paso Robles blend is mostly viognier, with sauvignon blanc, verdelho and vermentino. It has peach and pear flavors with a touch of sweetness.
