A sensory wine experience inspired by the 64 arts of KamaSutra

Romantic evenings have moved from being a deux to ménage-a trois: you, them and a bottle of wine. With deep blue walls, day beds full of vibrant colors and plush pillows, and labels inspired by the 64 arts of KamaSutra, the new LXV Wine Lounge elevates the mood and intimacy that goes beyond just sensing.

Wine has been known throughout history as an aphrodisiac, a bringer of pleasure and shearing through timid inhibitions, ingeniously captured by the unique LXV Wine and spice pairings.   LXV has paired the Rose with cinnamon, Sangiovese with lavender and Pumpkin spice and LXV Reserve wine with truffles by François Payard.  “Wine has infinite aromas and flavors. The right pairing unlocks these layers in the wine, giving you a much deeper experience,” says Kunal  Mittal, co-founder of LXV, who commutes from Los Angeles every weekend to follow his passion.

LXV has emerged from the teaming up of two entrepreneurial geniuses – those of Kunal and Neeta Mittal. And the talented iconoclastic winemaker Amy Butler, who is known for her old –world approach of making balanced wines that have received a nod from Wine Enthusiast magazine. The team sources fruit for small-lot vineyards from the best terroirs of Paso, where unique micro-climates create lower yields and intensely flavored fruit.

The style of the wine is at once classic and contemporary, showcasing the uniqueness of the Paso Robles AVA. For Neeta, Paso Robles reminds her of India. “There is an intimacy in the ecosystem in Paso, maybe because of the relationship people have with the earth and with each other. And that expresses itself in the grapes, in the winemaking, and ultimately in the wines,” says Neeta, fondly, as she walks on their ranch on Willow Creek Ranch where they will soon plant vineyards and build a winery and a tasting room. The ranch is open for Club members only for private tastings paired with Indian food and art events that are curated just for LXV Club.

The Mittals’ approach reframes the entire wine experience as a novel Indian series of events that sequentially awaken the full range of senses to more keenly appreciate wine, frame, and ambiance, all strategically designed for a rousingly pleasurable experience.

The LXV Wine Lounge is located at 1306B Pine Street in Paso Robles and is open every day except Wednesday from 1-7 p.m. The wine is also available for purchase through their website at lxvwine.com, and the owners are available to offer personal assistance at (805) 296-1902.
