Daughter, son in law of Vieni Vai owners, will open Flour House

–After 33 years, the owners of Vieni Vai Trattoria in San Luis Obispo are handing over the Higuera Street space to their next generation.

Flour House is the vision of Alberto and Gessica Russo, the son-in-law and daughter of Italian-born Chef Giuseppe Silvestre, who opened Vieni Vai with his wife, Debra Silvestre, in 1982.

The new, wholly remodeled farm-to-table Italian Flour House will feature an aperitivo mixology program and boast the Central Coast’s only Stefano Ferrara wood-burning brick oven imported from Naples, Italy.Pasta making

Their modern farm-to-table eatery will offer house-made pasta (which will also be available for sale at the restaurant and at the SLO Farmer’s Market), a comprehensive aperitivo program and pizza napolatana, a simple, light and flavorful style of pizza.

The official “handing over the keys” between Chef Silvestre and the Russos happened Jan. 3 during a private family gathering. The full remodeling project is underway now. Gessica says that an exact re-opening date has not been determined, but they expect to open their doors for business some time in April. Flour House SLO
