City earns spot in Expedia’s 16 most tourist-friendly cities article

Expedia content team named San Luis Obispo as one of America’s most tourist-friendly cities, encouraging people to visit the city located half-way between San Francisco and Los Angeles on the California Central Coast.

In the feature, each city was rated on seven different criteria, and San Luis Obispo scored high in several categories. The scores included: weather (5 stars), city discovery tours (5), amenities (5), quantity/quality of hotel operations (5), helpful tourism board (4), things to do (4), and access to an airport or major transit center (3)

The article states the following about San Luis Obispo, “Though California is tolerant and laid-back, some of its bigger cities can be difficult to navigate and in too much of a hurry to be much help to a curious tourist. One of the friendliest cities in the U.S., SLO embodies just the opposite, and refers to itself as the Happiest Place in America. Once you experience its proximity to beautiful beaches, its superb area wineries, and its plethora of activities, you’ll get it immediately. Take a Breakaway Tours wine tour, and spend a day at Hearst Castle in neighboring San Simeon.”
