Norman Vineyards, established in 1971, was one of the original vineyards to be planted in Paso Robles, on a cool stretch of the west side on Vineyard Drive, an area now bursting with vineyards and wineries. The late wine pioneer and ā€œGodfather of Zinā€ Art Norman and his wife Lei grew their vines and business from the ground up, researching and fine-tuning as they went to create the best quality grapes possible.
After twenty years of premium grape growing, they decided to start their own winery in1992. Though they had envisioned a small operation, producing perhaps a few thousand cases of wine per year, the instant success and acclaim they achieved led them to grow. Tasting Room Hours: Friday, Saturday & Sunday Ā 12:00 pm – 5:00 pm

Seven Angels Cellars is a family owned, boutique winery located in Templeton, CA.Ā  We began making wine in 2009 with a small production of Petite Sirah.Ā  Since then we have increased production to around 3000 cases per year.Ā  Greg Martin is the owner/winemaker and Pamela Martin is the other owner and handles social media, food pairings, wine club and club events and the website.Ā  The story behind the name came from our passion for family.Ā  We have seven children in our blended family, our 7 angels.

We both grew up loving wine.Ā  Greg grew up in a rural area of California with neighbors who grew wine grapes.Ā  He spent a lot of time learning about the entire process from the vine to the bottle from his patient neighbor.Ā  He continued his interest in wine as a US Coast Guard when he was stationed in the bay area and had easy access to the multitude of wineries in Sonoma and Napa.Ā  Pamela comes from a family of foodies and wine enthusiasts.Ā  She took courses in college in winemaking and learned the biology aspect of wine.Ā  She worked in catering and on TV as a home economist for a cooking show.Ā  Pairing food and wine to create an interesting and delightful balance in a meal has become an obsession for her.

We married in 2008 and started making wine the following year.Ā  We specialize in Rhone blends as well as single varietals.Ā  Greg has his eyes, hands in every aspect of the process from the field to the bottle.Ā  Pamela has the palate and the nose and is instrumental in the blending.

We participate in many non-profit and charity events as our way of giving back.Ā  We are involved with Precious Life Shelter in Los Alamitos, a shelter for homeless pregnant women and Goals for Life, and NFL program for troubled youth.Ā  We are the official wine sponsor for the Congressional Cup held annually at the Long Beach Yacht Club.Ā  We also sponsor the Wooden Boat Festival in Newport Beach each year.

Many of our wines have been recognized by Wine Enthusiast with ratings in the 90ā€™s.Ā  Weā€™ve also received numerous gold medals at California and International wine competitions.Ā  This year we were awarded a gold medal from the mid-state fair for our 2015 Pinot Noir and a gold medal from the Orange County Wine Competition for our 2015 Tempranillo.

We believe in the ā€œless is bestā€ approach to winemaking.Ā  Less manipulation and more natural methods of making our wine. Ā Greg likes to play with using different kinds of oak in our barrel program.Ā  Our wines are food friendly, approachable in both flavor and price point.Ā  Weā€™d love to share with you more about our methodology, including, why we keep our price point where it is and how we see Seven Angels integrated on an evolved, noteworthy, wine list.

Templeton Chamber QP VG46.jpg
321 S. Main Street #C, Templeton, CA 93465, USA

Mission Statement

The Templeton Chamber of Commerce promotes economic vitality, improves quality of life and encourages cooperation within our community.

Templeton Chamber of Commerce History

The original Templeton Board of Trade was formed in 1913 to promote trade and commerce, for the promotion of work, and for advertising to encourage growth in the community.
In May of 1979, a town meeting was held to determine whether or not to revitalize the Board of Trade. It was overwhelmingly accepted and a new organization known as the Templeton Chamber of Commerce ā€“ Board of Trade was formed. This was in keeping with the original historical name, but also realizing the need to be a member of a nationally recognized organization such as the Chamber of Commerce.

The organization consists of local businesses, professionals and individual members who are committed to promoting economic vitality, improving quality of life and encouraging cooperation within our community.

Templeton History

Templeton was founded in 1886, when C.H. Phillips of the West Coast Land Company ,sent R.R. Harris to survey 160 acres south of Paso Robles. This acreage was to be laid out in business and residential lots and 5-12 acre parcels for a town named ā€œCrockerā€ after the famous San Francisco financier. Ā When it was discovered there was already a town by that name, this settlement became ā€œTempleton,ā€ named after Crockerā€™s son. This is the only town along the El Camino Real named for a person, rather than a saint.

Templeton was fathered by the railroad, built on the main highway between San Francisco and Los Angeles and, in its heyday, had a reputation for its saloon brawls and wild ā€˜nā€™ rough street scenes. The town was the end of the line for passengers coming from the north. Tourists disembarked here and took a stagecoach south to San Luis Obispo.
In 1891, the railroad continued south and the town was reduced to a flag stop and is now a bypass. In 1897, there was a great fire which burned most of the business district. The town was rebuilt, but not to its former glory.

In 1965, Josephine Gilfillan wrote for the Paso Robles Press a series of pieces on Templeton. Newcomers kept asking, ā€œWhy was Templeton was built so close to Paso Robles and Atascadero?ā€ She said, ā€œI wanted to tell them that Templeton came first.ā€

Today, Templeton is a small, quiet town, with a strong community spirit and a vision to preserve its colorful past.

August Ridge EP VG30.jpg
PO Box 451 Creston CA 93432

August Ridge was established by John Backer and Jill Zamborelli Backer in the spring of 2001 with the purchase of 40 acres of rolling hills in Creston. From the beginning their goal was to produce wines that combine the robust styling of the best California wines with the restrained elegance of the classic wines from northern and central Italy. Their passion for the project comes from a love of cooking, eating and sharing meals with friends which leads directly to August Ridge wine style. This dream is a natural extension of both the Backer and Zamborelli families. Johnā€™s family has been growing grapes for four generations dating back to the 1800ā€™s while Jillā€™s family brings the robust Italian food and traditions from a small town just outside of Rome, Italy.

Bodega de Edgar FP VG53.jpg
2725 Adelaida Road, Paso Robles, CA 93446, USA

Our story

A journey into the coastal town of Cambria, CA opened the eyes of my father, a young immigrant, to a better life for his family. Sure enough, my father was right. A whole world was out there for his children to embrace.

Bodega is the Spaniard term for a winery or cellar. Considering my Hispanic heritage and passion for Spanish wines, the brand name seemed a natural fit.

My wine journey started as a waiter in Paso Robles, CA. There I was exposed to many great wine producers. Several became friends and eventually opened their doors to my learning desires. I started as a Cellar Rat, and moved on to learn the many different aspects of the wine industry. My enthusiasm for producing great wines brought me and my wife to the development of our own brand, Bodega de Edgar, in 2007.

Starting at just 250 cases, Bodega de Edgar is now approaching 3,500 cases with the 2018Ā vintage. As always, my focus is on sourcing the highest quality fruit to produce the best wines, while still maintaining an affordable price point.

Welcome to my journey.

Bovino EP VG55.jpg
5685 El Pomar Drive, Templeton, CA 93465, USA

Bovino Vineyards and Winery is located in beautiful Templeton, California.Ā  Our estate vineyards are centrally situated in the Templeton Gap which is nestled between the Paso Robles Willow Creek and the El Pomar Districts.Ā  The Templeton Gap consists of a series of mountain passes created by rivers and creeks in the Santa Lucia Range, through which marine air flows into the region.

The Templeton Gap is the coolest climate of the Paso Robles sub-appellations and receives approximately 20 inches of precipitation per year.Ā  The water gap allows marine influences to enter the region which moderate the daily temperatures and increase the amount of time that it takes for grapes to ripen.Ā  The elevations in the area range from 700 to 1,800 feet above sea level with the majority of the wineries located between 800 and 940 feet.

The soils were created by alluvium of the Monterey Formation and are largely made up of silty and clay loams. There are some older soils produced from the Paso Robles Formation that are more cemented and shaly.Ā  Grapes produced in this region include Cabernet Sauvignon, Carignane, Charbono, Chardonnay, Grenache, Merlot, Petite Sirah, Pinot Gris, Pinot Noir, Primitivo, Sangiovese, Syrah, Tempranillo, Viognier and Zinfandel.

ONX QPH VG46.jpg
2910 Limestone Way, Paso Robles, CA 93446, USA

At ONX we focus on farming our crops with the understanding that the fruits of our labors will be realized in a glass of wine… your glass hopefully!Ā  There is a French term, elevage, which is applied to wine and it translates to ā€œthe educating or upbringingā€ of wine like parents do with their children.Ā  We like to extend that notion into the vineyard and believe that we can train the vines into producing the best possible fruit for wine production.

Our winegrowing goal each year is to raise concentrated and highly expressive fruit. We balance our crop to allow the vines to focus their energy on a limited number of clusters.Ā  The vine canopy is manicured to allow dappled sunlight penetration and air movement within the vine canopy.Ā  We employ a variety of trellis approaches that match our rootstock, scion, and soil combinations.

Unhindered by convention, the ONX Winemaking Team strives to create balanced wines that reflect both the place the grapes were grown and the vintage in which they were born. From rule breaking to blind blending, each vintage of ONX Wines is completely different, yet delightfully cohesive.
