Living the Dream
Pinot Noir is the driving passion of Marc Goldberg and Maggie D’Ambrosia, husband and wife owners of Windward Vineyard. Windward Vineyard is dedicated exclusively to producing Burgundian style Pinot Noir. To make the “Great American Pinot Noir,” one that rivals those produced in Burgundy, is the couple’s passion.
Marc and Maggie purchased and planted the vineyard in 1989 based upon the terroir and microclimate of the Paso Robles Westside. The combination of the cooling Pacific breezes, the calcareous soil and the 50 degree daily drop in temperature produce exemplary Pinot Noir.
With the Burgundian French term, “Monopole” vision of total control over both the vineyard and the winemaking, the 15-acre vineyard is planted to four notable French clones.
Windward Vineyard is dedicated to putting Paso Robles’ Pinot Noir back on the map, following in the footsteps of two significant figures in California wine history. In the late 1960’s, consultant Andre Tchelistcheff supervised the Paso Robles Hoffman Mountain Ranch property of Dr. Stanley Hoffman. In the 1970’s, Hoffman’s Pinot Noirs gained worldwide recognition, and were drinking well over 20 years later.
Since the 1993 debut in 1995, each of Windward’s SOLD OUT vintages have achieved inspiring acclaim, particularly within the community of wine aficionados who appreciate the layered complexity of Burgundian styled Pinot Noir. Marc explains. “We knew we could count on the vineyard to produce formidable fruit. It is living up to our expectations as it matures and continues to develop layered complexity.”
The Hope family arrived in Paso Robles in 1978 in search of land and new opportunity. As they’ve planted vineyards, grown grapes and made wine over the past 30 years, Paso Robles has become a viticulture region of significance, capable of producing world-class wines. As one of the pioneering families of this distinctive wine community, the Hope family is dedicated to sustainable farming and making wines that are delicious, accessible and memorable. Still family-owned and operated, Hope Family Wines now makes five individual brands: Liberty School, Treana, Candor, Troublemaker and Austin Hope. Castoro Cellars, which has been making wine in Paso Robles since 1983, was started by husband and wife Niels and Bimmer Udsen. Niels studied Ag Business at Cal Poly San Luis Obispo. According to Bimmer, “When Niels graduated he wasn’t sure exactly what he wanted to do but the wine industry seemed appealing.” He started working at Paso Robles winery Estrella River Winery, and says Bimmer, “immediately fell in love with the wine business.”
Niels began making his own wine, which he and Bimmer would sell to friends and family. This eventually led to Niels and Bimmer starting Castoro Cellars, which now produces around 30,000 cases annually. Bimmer says of Paso Robles, “Ending up in Paso Robles was truly a blessing as the region has grown immensely since Castoro Cellars began making wines.” Read more here: https://www.slovisitorsguide.com/paso-robles/30-years-of-family-winemaking-at-castoro-cellars

About:
Sandra and Darryl Kilpatrick offer massage therapy in a variety of modalities. At Paso Robles Massage Therapy Therapy we are aimed to focus on client’s wellness through relieving muscle pain and tension while providing a clean, safe, positive and relaxing experience. Sandra and Darryl are mindful to client’s needs while remaining non-judgmental and compassionate. Sandra and Darryl strive to help clients achieve their health and wellness by providing exceptional service experience.
We often feel pain in a generalized area (shoulders, neck, low back etc.). Massage Therapy however, attempts to identify which muscle is overly tight, sore, has a Trigger Point or what the specific issue is. We can then relieve pain by applying appropriate massage techniques for the identified problem. When the pain is relieved, we follow up with periodic massage as maintenance to prevent the problem from reoccurring. We believe massage should be a part of everyone’s regular wellness plan.
We help clients heal from injury, release adhesions (knots), cope with stress, relax, and preserve functional capability, with soft tissue therapy.
Brief company history
Sandra and Darryl Kilpatrick completed the Massage Practitioner course at California Holistic Institute and received certification from the California Massage Therapy Council in 2013. They were drawn to help people in the therapeutic realm and opened their practice with Griffin Chiropractic. They continued their education and went on to graduate from the 500 hour Massage Therapist course in 2014. They honed their relaxation massage skills by working at Massage Envy.
