Fresh food and enchanting
waterfront views at Bayside Café
Hungry? Drop into the Bayside
Café at the marina in Morro
Bay. Relax over lunch while watch-
ing the sun reflecting on the water.
Looking for a casual, romantic loca-
tion for dinner? The Bayside Café is
the place.
Dawn Borst started Bayside Cafe
after recognizing the need for a place
to grab a quick meal after coming
in from a day on the water. As the
restaurant grew, she remained dedi-
cated to serving the freshest food
to every customer. A favorite since
it was opened in 1986 when Dawn
started Bayside Café as a walk-up.
She created each recipe herself, and
the menu continues featuring her
unique recipes for every meal.
Recipes for the perfect bite
The extensive lunch, dinner, and
kids’ menus have offerings to please
everyone and feature Dawn’s unique
recipes. Each recipe is crafted out of a
love for the perfect bite.
The lunch menu offers plenty
of delicious options. From seafood,
burgers, and pasta to Mexican
specialties, the whole family eats well
regardless of who wants what.
The dinner menu at Bayside Café
is more romantic. Chicken Marsala,
tender slow-roasted tri-tip, and
blackened ahi are just a few of the
choices, and the entree list is a perfect
variety of both surf and turf.
The kids’ menu is tailored to
young appetites and comes with fries!
Want to share a few appetizers
with your group? Try the shrimp
cocktail and calamari strips. Or
maybe you’d like a bowl of chowder,
which is a meal in itself.
“Everything looks so good,” is a
regular comment from Bayside Café
patrons. Count on having a hard time
making up your mind about what to
eat, but you can save a little time by
checking out the menus at
baysidecafe.com.
Dessert and a kids’
menu, too!
Dessert heaven
Locals have long discovered that
a trip to Bayside is more than the
mouthwatering main courses – the
homemade desserts are must-
eats. Chocolate Oblivion and Tres
Leches Cake are just two of the
delights that leave diners wishing
for more.
Great beer, wine, and a selection
of other beverages top off the meal.
Perhaps the best part about
dining at Bayside Cafe is the feeling
that even if you are just visiting the
area, you are treated like a local.
Smiling employees, delicious food,
and a laid-back atmosphere are the
perfect combination.
Low-key and relaxed
The cozy café boasts seating
with perfect views of the bay.
Sit inside and soak up the views
through the huge glass window
or bring your dog and enjoy the
heated patio. Every seat offers
memorable views of the bay and
marina. Soaring birds, boats gently
drifting at their moorings, the
drifting fog, and stunning sunsets
perfectly accompany your deli-
cious meal.
Just across the street from the
campground, Bayside Cafe is the
restaurant every camper dreams
about. Diners often show up in
beach cover-ups and camping
attire. The fact that dogs are wel-
come on the patio bears repeating!
Mix the delicious food, amaz-
ing views, and casual atmosphere
with a large dose of relaxation, and
you will have a hard time leaving,
guaranteed.
Bayside Cafe, located at 10 State
Park Road directly across the road
from the Morro Bay State Park
Campground, is open for lunch Mon-
day through Wednesday, 11 a.m.-3
