Olive Oil Tasting
The Millers started with
planting olive trees with the aid
of Richard and Linda Delahanty.
When Richard introduced the
Millers to mobile milling, they
made a batch of olive oil from
their first harvest in 2018.
The first year, the Millers gave
their olive oil to friends for a
blind tasting against some of the
most well-known and expensive
olive oils. Upon learning that
their friends preferred their oils,
what started as a hobby soon
blossomed into a passion.
Since then, the farm has
grown to 50 acres of Certified
Organic groves, and includes
varieties such as bosana from
Sardinia and hojiblanca from
Spain. Every tree is planted,
cared for, and picked by hand.
The Millers are passionate about
environmentally-conscious
farming, refrain from using toxic
pesticides or fertilizers, prac-
tice beekeeping, and also grow
lavender. Expanding the olive
trees from 5000 to 20,000 is also
in the plans.
The Millers credit their amaz-
ing team for the success of Sun-
shine Olive Oil. From managing
the farm, to producing the oils,
and managing the business, tast-
ing room, and shop, the entire
team is essential for every step.
The Sunshine Olive Oil tasting
room & shop, located at 1244 Pine
St. Suite 106A in downtown Paso
Robles, is open daily from 10 a.m.
