festivities continue as Shale Oak
marks its 15th anniversary in busi-
ness with a special 21+ celebration
on September 5 from 5–8 p.m.,
complete with catering by Jeffry’s
Wine Country BBQ, an energetic
dueling piano show, captivating
fire dancer performances, and
interactive axe throwing hosted by
Chop Shop.
There’s nothing pretentious at
Shale Oak Winery. The vibe is cool
and funky and family and dog-
friendly. Hascall states, “We want
people to relax and enjoy the wine
because that’s what it’s all about.
Enjoying the wine.”
Shale Oak Winery is located
just off Highway 46 at 3235 Oak-
dale Road, Paso Robles. The tasting
room is open from 10:00 a.m. to
5:00 p.m. Thursday and Sunday, 10
a.m. to 6 p.m. Friday and Saturday.

ability to the forefront,” is not just
a motto, but a lived reality woven
into every detail of the property.
The same attention to detail
they put into the buildings has
gone into the winemaking. Ac-
cording to Hascall, “Our varietals
are the best of Paso. We have
Rhône. We have Bordeaux. We
have zinfandel. Our 2024 Albariño
is the perfect Paso Robles sum-
mertime wine, crisp, refreshing,
and full of flavor. We have a good
mix of everything that I feel grows
well in the area. Everything is
from Paso Robles. Everything
is done in small lots. Nothing is
more than a couple of hundred
cases produced. So, we’re able to
pay a lot of attention to detail and
focus on the wine quality.”
Shale Oak Winery is celebrat-
ing a standout year, recently
earning four Gold medals, one
Platinum, and the prestigious
“Winery of the Year” title at the
2026 San Diego International
Wine & Spirits Challenge. Build-
ing on that momentum, the
winery is inviting the commu-
