– With summer weather arriving here in wine country, thoughts turn to summer activities – BBQs, shaded parks, live music, and of course sipping wine outdoors. Why not get all of that in one afternoon? The Paso Pinot & Paella Festival is in its 15th year of bringing together your favorite warm-weather activities.

The Paso Pinot Producers invite you to an afternoon of great wine, exceptional food & unmatched fun. The event will be held on Sunday, June 3rd, 2018 in the beautiful Templeton Community Park.

Joining 20 Paso Pinot Producers are over a dozen great Central Coast chefs each putting their own spin on the classic Paella dish. Tickets include a souvenir Burgundy-style fine wine glass, endless tastes of Pinot Noir paired with a wide variety of paellas, live Spanish-beat music by Paso Wine Man Band, and dancing if you like. “Pinotphiles” attending are encouraged to bring blankets & lawn chairs to enjoy the fun under the shade of giant oak trees in the Templeton Park.

“We started this event in 2003 to bring recognition to the fact that Paso Robles can produce a Pinot Noir, and a great one at that” says Marc Goldberg, owner and winemaker of Windward Vineyard. Windward Vineyard is the only Exclusively Pinot Noir winery in Paso Robles, but Pinot Noir has been growing in Paso Robles since the 1960’s. “There’s a big misconception that Paso is the wrong appellation for Pinot Noir, but we have over 20 producers proving how distinct the microclimates are here,” says Goldberg. In June, 700 pinot fans will gather to taste for themselves. Attendees can taste the variety in styles of Pinot Noir, and vote for the paella that best paired with the Pinot.

This is a non-profit event. All wineries donate their wine, and the chefs donate their time and talent for this event. Since 2003, the event has donated over $400,000 to programs that support youth arts in San Luis Obispo County, primarily the Paso Robles Youth Arts Foundation.
