–Opera San Luis Obispo will present, “The Best of Broadway” at the historic Chapman Estate in Shell Beach on Saturday, Aug. 11.
Back by popular demand, the Best of Broadway will feature a collaboration featuring a quintet of acclaimed singers from Center Stage Opera (Los Angeles), accompanied by OperaSLO’s Artistic Director and Conductor Brian Asher Alhadeff and members from the OperaSLO Grand Orchestra.
Debuting are sopranos Shira Renee Thomas and Katherine Washington, along with baritone Joe Dhanens and tenor Drew Schufman. Returning to the stage are Resident Artist Alba Franco-Cancel (soprano), and tenor Dylan F. Thomas (who was the hilarious peddler Ali Hakim in Oklahoma!)
The Central Coast classic will be performed at the renowned Chapman Estate – a seaside manor and exclusive location in Shell Beach with breathtaking ocean views.
Guests are encouraged to arrive early – gates open at 1 p.m. and the concert begins at 2 p.m. In addition, the event features a silent auction, plein air painters, and wine tasting from Opolo. A complimentary shuttle service starting at 12:30 p.m. is provided from Shell Beach Elementary School located at 2100 Shell Beach Road (patron parking is not permitted between Vista del Mar and Cliff Drive.)
