–Located just fifteen minutes east of Arroyo Grande, beautiful Lopez Lake Recreational Area is a fantastic destination for thrill-seekers, outdoor enthusiasts, and families looking for fun.

The lake offers many activities including camping, fishing, boating, water skiing, sailing, windsurfing, picnicking, hiking and equestrian trails, mountain biking, canoeing, bird watching, water-sliding and now, with the addition of Vista Lago Adventure Park, even zip-lining, and ropes courses!

Lopez Lake is a fantastic option for visitors and locals alike to relax, enjoy great weather, beautiful surroundings and outdoor activities galore. The lake makes a great destination for a weekend getaway, a day trip or an extended camping trip.

Vista Lago Adventure Park

Vista Lago, the newest addition to the growing list of fun activities available in Lopez Lake, is an outdoor adventure park that features multiple ropes courses and zip lines. Vista Lago offers courses for beginners and experienced “adventurers” alike, with over 50 elements in their rope course varying in difficulty. The park boasts four zip-lines, including two that are high-speed, and a 40’ quick jump for the real thrill-seekers!

Lopez Lake Marina

The Lopez Lake Marina is a one-stop-shop for all camping needs. They have a general store, offer boat and water toy rentals, bait and tackle and a bar and grill.

Mustang Waterpark

Camp French

Formerly used exclusively by the Boy Scouts, Camp French has recently been opened to the public. With group camping areas, a full commercial kitchen and a beautiful gazebo, Camp French is an ideal choice for corporate retreats, church or group gatherings, weddings, birthday parties and more.

Hiking trails

Lopez Lake Recreational Area offers various hiking trails for all levels.

The San Luis Obispo County Parks office offers the following options:

• Marina: 0.4 miles, moderate, hiking, biking
• Rocky Point: 0.4 miles, easy, hiking
• Blackberry Springs: 0.8 miles, moderate, self-guided interpretive, hiking
• High Ridge: 2.3 miles, strenuous, multi-use
• Wittenberg Arm: 1 mile, easy, multi-use
• Duna Vista: 7.2 miles, moderate hike, multi-use, a local favorite to hikers, mountain bikers, and equestrians. Scenic oak woodland, great views of the lake, surrounding mountain ranges and valleys.
• Tuouski: 1.8 miles, moderate, hiking
• Turkey Ridge: 0.8 miles, strenuous, hiking
• Hi Mountain: 7 miles, moderate to strenuous, multi-use (two miles east of Lopez Lake on Hi Mountain Road)
