Anderson Paso Forty-Six Castle

Seasonal flavors, handcrafted cocktails, and regional wines top the menu in a castle-inspired eatery and event space

Thanks to the vision of Damien Mavis and Pat Arnold, a castle-inspired property with roots in the Paso Robles community has been transformed into a majestic restaurant and event space called The Anderson Paso. Situated among the rolling hills of Paso Robles, it’s easy to find because it’s well-known for being “the first castle on the right” on Highway 46 West from Highway 101.

Mavis and Arnold are the founders of CoVelop, Inc., a real estate development firm based in the San Luis Obispo and Santa Barbara communities that oversees residential and commercial projects from acquisition through construction. The team takes pride in their commitment to providing meaningful economic and social impact with each project, and The Anderson Paso is no exception.

“We like to think of it as the gathering spot where our friends, local neighbors, visitors, and wine industry professionals can come together, enjoy a great meal, a good drink, and each other’s company,” said Mavis.

Central Coast Cuisine with a Southern twist

The menu at The Anderson Paso is as unique as Chef Logan Ring’s culinary journey. His roots in the South, blended with skills gained in Korean and Caribbean kitchens, match well with the seasonal harvest of the Central Coast. Approachable yet memorable, the menu boasts a wide selection of lunch, dinner, and dessert options.

Shared plate options include the coconut katsu shrimp with pickled red cabbage, Fresno chili, cilantro, and a vibrant peanut vinaigrette. Entrees such as the steak frites – a grilled 8-ounce flat iron steak with shoestring fries, fine herbs, and red miso peppercorn sauce – or the pork porterhouse with gochujang molasses-glaze and gamja potato salad, are sure to satisfy every appetite.

The Anderson burger and the shrimp po boy boast savory flavors, and the salad selection is a great reflection of the seasonal offerings of the Central Coast. Be sure to save room for dessert! Enjoy the white chocolate bread pudding, the exquisite pina colada cheesecake, or a scoop of vanilla bean artisan gelato and other tempting delights.

“The Anderson Paso is the perfect spot for local folks and visitors who may be out experiencing our local wine country,” said Heather Muran, CoVelop Director of Marketing. “Everyone who drives 46 West sees the castle. We’re the only spot along the highway in Paso Robles where you can enjoy a nice lunch or dinner, and cocktails. We’re lining up special events for the summer with live music, industry nights, and brunch specials on Sundays.”

Handcrafted cocktails, Fortress flights, and non-alcoholic options

Whether it’s a cocktail, mocktail, wine, beer, or a soft drink you desire, the Anderson Paso features a wide variety of beverage options, including The Anderson Negroni. One of several original cocktail offerings, it’s milk-clarified and crafted with gin, clarified Campari, rose syrup, orange oil, and winemaker Jeremy Leffert’s Croma Vera Vermouth Del Sol. The sweet and spicy trial by fire, made with a house habanero tequila, Anchos Reyes Chili Liqueur, blood orange, pineapple, lime, agave syrup, and Tajin Classico Seasoning, is a must-try.

Traditional and local bottled beers are available, including non-alcoholic brews, and mocktails such as the bright and balanced Hughie Jr. with cucumber-lime cordial, pineapple juice, club soda, and lime are sure to quench your thirst.

As part of a truly unique tasting experience, Fortress Flights rotates wine selections from Central Coast winemakers to bring multiple small-batch producers together in a collaborative setting. This concept was developed in partnership with The Anderson Paso’s sister company, Fortress Custom Crush. With these curated flights, house manager Robin Wolf and her team share the background of featured winemakers while also guiding and educating guests on each wine’s style and region.

Stunning views, outdoor terraces, and event spaces

More than just a restaurant, The Anderson Paso is part of a truly stunning hospitality destination. The castle overlooking the hills of Paso Robles boasts a full suite of inviting event spaces, outdoor terraces, and rooftop settings, making it the ideal location for weddings, private dining experiences, and corporate gatherings.

“With the castle and lots of great outdoor and indoor spaces, there are so many opportunities for stunning photos for our bridal parties and events,” Muran said.

Whether sitting outside to enjoy lunch on a sunny day or by the fire for an elegant dinner, The Anderson Paso has quickly become a welcoming and memorable space for locals and visitors alike. It’s a place to slow down, connect, and savor the best of the Central Coast.

The Anderson Paso is located at 3090 Anderson Road in Paso Robles, “the first castle on the right” just off Hwy 46 West; open Thursday through Monday, 11:30 a.m. to 9 p.m. with last seating at 8:30 p.m. For reservations and more information, visit theandersonpaso.com, or call (805) 226-5060.
