California comfort food is on the menu at Pig Iron.
Family-friendly menu, craft cocktails, live music, and more!
The Templeton Mercantile is off to an exciting 2025 for families, cocktails and live music aficionados, and everyone who enjoys good food. After some upgrades that include freshening the Pig Iron menu and the Club Car Bar line-ups, the Templeton Mercantile has become the latest hot spot for dining, cocktails, live music, and wallet-friendly prices.
Pig Iron
Featuring a family-friendly California comfort food menu, Pig Iron has something for kids and adults. Choices like the one-third pound Classic Burger, crave-worthy seasoned French fries, and the savory Tri-Tip Torta are favorite offerings. The dedicated kids’ menu includes choices such as mini corn dogs and chicken nuggets. Daily happy hour food and drink specials are available from 3-5 p.m.
Brunch-exclusive dishes and drinks like Chicken & Waffles, the Cowboy Benedict, and the house-made Bloody Mary are available every Saturday and Sunday.
Abundant indoor seating is available in Pig Iron’s brightly lit dining room or cozy bar, nicknamed The Engine Room, a nod to Templeton’s rich railroad history. The spacious outdoor patio provides ample space for groups to gather, with heaters and a fire pit for comfort. Two new arcade games keep the whole family engaged while enjoying a meal together.
Club Car Bar
Templeton’s only full bar, the Club Car Bar, features regular live music from an eclectic lineup of talented musicians while serving up fine-crafted cocktails, wine, and beer. Ranging from boot-scootin’ classic country artists such as Emily Nenni and Teddy & The Rough Riders to the legendary British punk outfit, The Subhumans, and acclaimed singer-songwriters like The White Buffalo, there is something for everyone on the event schedule.
Original Western murals by late local artist Hugh Slayden frame out the Club Car, with hand-cut wood floors that complement a curved marble-topped custom bar. Familiar spirits such as Crown Royal and Jameson are stacked alongside specialty bottles, appealing to cocktail aficionados of all preferences. Regular house events like Wednesday night trivia and monthly Karaoke Night (every last Saturday) pepper the brimming calendar, booked by longstanding local promoter Good Medicine Presents.
Make a date and go
Whether you’re planning a date night, evening out, grabbing lunch with the family after a basketball game, brunch with friends, or other special events, Templeton Mercantile is the local go-to spot for all things food, drink, and music.
