Quality paint used on unique items for an antique look

-With tastefully chipped furniture, gold dusted wall hangings, and beautiful pillows, Seashells and Sawdust is every Pinterest enthusiasts dream store that will bring a sense of wonder to a home. The business was started in 2015 by Shannon Rose, a mother of five who held a dream to own her own store after her passion for home decor.

“I started with spaces in vintage malls and once I was in four malls, my husband encouraged me it was time to open my own store. We opened the store here in downtown Morro Bay…it has been a blast. I have learned so much and made many, many friends,” said Rose, who noted that is was a compliment that many tourists regularly return to Seashells and Sawdust during their visits.

Seashells and Sawdust pride themselves on using Miss Mustard Seed Milk Paint, which is a high quality paint brand that is able to provide a vintage feel to any piece of furniture or accessory. The paint is able to have a chipped or smooth effect, according to Seashell and Sawdust’s website. Milk paint is available for purchase with dozens of colors to pick from and the shop is a certified retailer.

Make sure to poke around at the different accessories that can create a themed room, which Rose describes the style as “farmhouse meets the beach…we definitely incorporate a beach theme to our decor but show how you can mix it with many everyday items”. For a beach theme, admire the use of shells that are used to decorate jars and vases, along with quirky nautical accessories.

Popular items include rugs, such as Dash and Albert and Magnolia, pillows, mirrors, and lighting options. Customers can put in a custom order also. Seashells and Sawdust is a gorgeous store with plenty of antique items to satisfy any Pinterest lovers board.

Seashells and Sawdust is located at 315 Morro Bay Boulevard in Morro Bay. Open Monday through Sunday from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. For more information call (805) 225-1754 or visit seashellsandsawdust.com.
