Scarecrow Contest Paso Robles

–The Paso Robles Main Street Association is hosting their annual Scarecrows Contest and the last day to vote for a favorite scarecrow is fast approaching on Oct. 28.  Anyone can vote by visiting one of the 25 downtown businesses who sponsored a scarecrow on display.  Students ranging in age from preschoolers to middle-schoolers used a variety of spooky and goul-ish materials to create each scarecrow for this year’s contest.

Voters are entered into a drawing to win a prize at each store they visit and submit a vote. These winners will be drawn on Oct. 28 and announced by each store.  On Halloween the winner who received the most votes by the deadline will be announced at the Safe and Fun Halloween held in Downtown City Park on Halloween.

A map of all the scarecrows and their sponsors can be picked up at the Paso Robles Main Street Office at 835 12th St. Suite D (entrance in the alley between 12th and 13th streets). Sponsors include the General Store Paso Robles, Tudor Wines, Spare Time Books and We Olive.

This contest is in addition to the annual community Safe and Fun Halloween party held downtown. This year’s family-friendly party will host a variety of Halloween themed events and performances, including Trick or Treating at local downtown businesses, hotdogs, and several dance performances by the Paso Robles Youth Arts Foundation showcasing classic Halloween-themed songs “Thriller” and “Freak Like Me Needs Company.” Also make sure to grab a photo with “The Witches” a coven of mischievous locals also known as Witch One, Man Witch, Sand Witch and Witch Ever. Join the festivities on Monday, Oct. 31, from 4-7 p.m. This event is all ages and free to the public.

For more information about these events, call the Downtown Paso Robles Main Street Association at (805) 238-4103 or visit www.pasoroblesdowntown.org.
