– Jamestown, LP, a national real estate investment and management firm, has announced that The San Luis Obispo Collection, a 195,000 square-foot urban shopping and lifestyle destination, is adding 51,340 square feet of retail, restaurant and office space along Monterey Street between Chorro and Morro Street.

Located in the heart of San Luis Obispo – named one of the Happiest Cities in America – The Collection has signed notable retailers including H&M, Lululemon Athletica, Williams-Sonoma, MAC cosmetics, Marine Layer, and Francesca’s Collection as well as local restaurants Thomas Hill Organic Kitchen, Luna Café, and Mint + Craft. The San Luis Obispo Collection offers a wide variety of shops, dining options, galleries, and lively outdoor entertainment spaces making it a top destination for visitors throughout the Central Coast.

“The addition of new retail space and the hotel along Monterey Street will reinforce one of the most dynamic main streets along the California coast and we look forward to celebrating with the community,” said Jamestown President Michael Phillips.

The Monterey Street addition also includes 6,000 square feet of dedicated space for Cal Poly. The second and third level of the building addition near Chorro Street will house the Cal Poly Hothouse, office space for the alumni and fundraising divisions, plus loft residences for students focused on the entrepreneurial program.

To officially welcome the new tenants, an opening celebration will be held on Saturday, Nov. 5 from noon to 4 p.m. The Monterey Street Grand Opening Festival will showcase food, live music, entertainment, and special events. Guests are invited to nibble on small bites from Thomas Hill Organic Kitchen and Mint + Craft, while enjoying local musicians Damon Castillo, known for his songwriting and acoustic guitar skills; Nick Larson, offering expressive vocals across soul, blues and folk genres; and Reese Galido, a soulful singer performing intimate songs. Additionally, kids and adults alike will be entertained by magician Rich Ferguson and juggler Alex Clark. For those looking for an interactive experience, a cooking demo will take place at Williams-Sonoma hosted by a surprise local celebrity guest from noon to 2 p.m. The full afternoon of festivities is free and open to the public, with the main events taking place on the street level and upper plaza.

In addition to the new retailers joining Monterey Street this fall, a new hotel will also open in early 2018 on Palm Street overlooking the complex connected by a garden paseo. Named The SLO – Hotel San Luis Obispo, the property will feature 78 guest rooms, including six suites, and dedicated space for meetings and events for groups from 14 to 350 guests.
