Mondo Cellars won big time at the Paso Robles Rotary’s Winemakers’ Cookoff.

The Paso Robles winery won first place in the “People’s Choice Award.” This competition is for the winemaker who can create the tastiest appetizer to go along with their wine.

Everyone in attendance is given three tickets to use to cast votes. Mondo took the most thanks to their Asian-style nachos.

The Mondos celebrated on their Facebook page: ”We are so excited and honored to have won! A big special thank you to our amazing chef and friend Popie Kaiser for making her out of this world Asian Nachos!”

The nachos earned Mondo Cellars third place in the judge’s competition.

The annual event, now on it’s 14th year, is a fundraiser for Paso Robles charities. More than $40,000 per year is raised and donated to local scholarships by the Paso Robles Rotary Club.
