Bayside Cafe Morro Bay

Lunch, dinner, dessert and amazing views

—What better way to spend an afternoon in Morro Bay than enjoying a leisurely lunch at the Bayside Café after a morning on the water or before exploring the Morro Bay State Park? A favorite since it was opened in 1986 Bayside Cafe is also a top choice for a casual, romantic bayside dinner. Owner Dawn Borst started Bayside Café as a “walk-up,” creating each recipe herself and continuing to feature her unique recipes for every meal.

Today the cozy café boasts seating with perfect views of the bay. Sit inside and soak up the views through the huge glass window or bring your dog and enjoy the heated patio. Every seat offers memorable views of the bay and marina. Soaring birds, boats gently drifting at their moorings, the drifting fog and stunning sunsets perfectly accompany your delicious meal.

Take a moment to enjoy the sun reflecting on the water as you relax after a great meal. Perhaps the best part about dining at Bayside Cafe is the feeling that even if you are just visiting the area, you are treated like a local. Smiling employees, delicious food, and a laid-back atmosphere are the perfect combination.

Something for everyone on the menus

Each recipe has been crafted out of a love for the perfect bite. Dawn started Bayside Cafe after recognizing the need for a place to grab a quick meal after coming in from a day on the water. As the restaurant grew, she remained dedicated to serving the freshest food to each and every customer.

The extensive lunch menu offers plenty of delicious options. From seafood and burgers to Mexican specialties, the whole family eats well regardless of who wants what. Want to share a few appetizers with your group? Try the shrimp cocktail and calamari strips. Or maybe you’d like a bowl of chowder, which is a meal in itself.

The dinner menu at Bayside Cafe is a bit more romantic. Chicken Marsala, tender slow roasted tri-tip, and blackened ahi are just a few of the choices, and the entree list is a perfect variety of both surf and turf.

Dessert heaven

Locals have long discovered that a trip to Bayside is more than the mouthwatering main courses – the homemade desserts are must-eats. Chocolate Oblivion and Tres Leches Cake are just two of the delights that leave diners wishing for more.

Low-key and relaxed

Just across the street from the campground, Bayside Cafe is the restaurant every camper dreams about. Diners often show up in beach cover-ups and camping attire. The fact that dogs are welcome in the patio bears repeating!

Mix the delicious food, amazing views and casual atmosphere with a large dose of relaxation and you will have a hard time leaving, guaranteed. Check out the menus at baysidecafe.com.
