– There are plenty of reasons to celebrate at Eberle Winery. After several months of negotiations, last Spring Gary Eberle and his wife Marcy finally regained majority ownership of Gary’s namesake winery. Soon after, Eberle Winery welcomed back Chris Eberle (no relation) to take the helm of winemaker and promoted Nick Compton as assistant winemaker. In June, Gary was honored with the Wine Lifetime Achievement Award for the state of California. The gala was held in Sacramento with hundreds of people in attendance. In August, the Eberle 2012 Barbera won “Best of Show” at the Central Coast Wine Competition, beating out hundreds of other red and white wines entered into the event.

“2015 has turned out to be a fantastic, memorable year,” says Gary. “Everything seems to be going the way it should be and Marcy and I couldn’t be happier. The quality of the grapes that I’ve seen coming in is outstanding. It’s the quantity I’m worried about. But no matter how many cases we produce this year, I am confident we will certainly make a damn good bottle of wine.”

As harvest continues, the Eberles plan to pull out all the stops with a weekend of festivities during Harvest Festival weekend Oct. 16-18. On Friday, Oct. 16, the winery will welcome Thomas Hill Organics for a “Winemaker Dinner in the Caves.” This local favorite epitomizes the “farm to table” cuisine that is perfect for celebrating harvest. The cost is $150 per person, or $120 for cellar club members. Call (805) 238-9607 or email events@eberlewinery.com for information and reservations.

On Saturday, Oct. 17, Eberle will continue in the harvest spirit with a tri-tip barbecue and live music by Tres Mojitos. Come enjoy the vineyard view from the deck, sample award-winning wines and take advantage of special harvest sales in the tasting room.

On Sunday, Oct. 18, the winery will continue with samples of special wines, sales in the tasting room and more. As always, wine tasting and cave tours are complimentary.

Eberle Winery is located at 3810 Highway 46 East in Paso Robles. Tasting Room hours are 10 a.m. – 5 p.m. in the winter, and 10 a.m. – 6 p.m. in the summer. For more information call (805) 238-9607, or visit www.eberlewinery.com.
