Julie Parker creates jewelry with stones found on Cambria’s Moonstone Beach

–Julie Parker, of PasoJules, has recently announced the opening of her online store, www.pasojules.com. Parker creates one-of-a-kind, wire-wrapped Moonstone Beach Jewelry. She sources every stone that she uses from Moonstone Beach in Cambria, such as jadeite, jasper and colorful agates, as well as local “moonstones” from which the beach in named. These local “moonstones” are actually quartzite that resembles the genuine Moonstone.

After finding the stones, she polishes them for at least 8 weeks. She then wire-wraps them by hand and lets the stone dictate the design. Each of her pieces is a one-of-a-kind piece of art.

Parker says she is a huge proponent of the Central Coast, moving here from Kansas three years ago with her husband David. “Like the amazing grapes here, I see my jewelry as a product of our area and I encourage people to “take a piece of the Central Coast with them,” in the form of beautiful jewelry!”

Parker has been participating in wine & art festivals, such as Savor the Central Coast, the Garagiste Festival in Solvang, and local wine festivals in the area. She is also collaborating with wineries & other businesses (as well as private home parties) to set up her trunk shows at their special events.

To see the jewelry in person at her Paso Robles studio, or to schedule a trunk show, email her at pasojules@gmail.com, or call her at (785) 569-1381. For a complete list of her upcoming events, click on the “Shows” tab on her website. Her jewelry is also for sale in Studios on the Park (as well as her drawings) in downtown Paso Robles.
