–The City of Atascadero and the Atascadero Historical Society invite the public to enjoy their own private, complementary tour of Historic City Hall! Beginning Nov. 14, private tours of Atascadero City Hall will be offered by appointment only. Enjoy having your own docent as you are taken back through time when city hall was the place for commerce, dances, weddings, community events, reunions and so much more. Enjoy learning about the beautiful planning, design and architecture of the building along with the development of the Colony of Atascadero inspired by its founder, E.G. Lewis.
The spectacular Historic City Hall, constructed between 1914 to 1918, was restored above and beyond its original grandeur after the 2003 San Simeon Earthquake. The opportunity to have a private tour of this magnificent building and learning its history at your own pace is a “must do” for visitors and locals alike. Tour the museum exhibit of Atascadero’s fascinating roots on docent led tours offered by the Atascadero Historical Society.
Private Historic City Hall Tours are complementary and offered by appointment with the Atascadero Historical Society. In addition to experiencing the beautiful grandeur of city hall, stroll the sunken gardens and enjoy the beautiful walkways, statues and fountain that adorn the park. Continue your visit with a short walk over to the historic colony house to learn about the beginning of one of the most unique communities in California.
Historic City Hall will be offering special night tours on Dec. 2 from 5:30 – 8:30 p.m. during Atascadero’s Annual Holiday Lighting at the sunken gardens. Except for special planned events such as the Holiday Lighting, Historic City Hall tours will now be by appointment only.
