Laetitia Winery offers two white wines perfect for the season

image005ARROYO GRANDE, CA – The scent of fall may be on the air, but these golden last days of summer are still warm and ideally suited for a glass of white wine on the patio. Before we move into the stews, braises and red wines of fall, give a last hurrah for summer with Laetitia Chardonnay and sister brand Nadia Sauvignon Blanc.

Perfect for warm, end-of-summer weather, Laetitia’s 2012 Estate Chardonnay offers generous tropical aromas of lychee and fresh lemongrass, with flavors of mango and coconut cream laced with sandalwood on the palate. With its bright acidity and vibrant minerality, this medium-bodied white is a pure expression of the extreme coastal influence and complex soils that comprise Laetitia’s terroir. This wine’s gregarious bouquet is ideal for sipping, but would also pair nicely with fresh spring rolls or creamy Havarti.

The 2012 Estate Chardonnay isn’t the only wine showing off mouthwatering, exotic notes. The NADIA 2012 Sauvignon Blanc layers aromas of island mango and juicy papaya with classic notes of fresh grass and lime blossom for a wine in perfect balance between lush fruit and fresh acidity. Crafted from coveted fruit grown on the Santa Barbara Highlands Vineyard, this wine’s palate is medium-light, though rich from aging in neutral French oak. Again, this is a wine that is capable of standing alone on a hot afternoon, though a classic pairing of tangy goat cheese or prosciutto-wrapped asparagus spears would also work well.
