Welcome to historic Templeton

A visit to Templeton will give you the feeling that you have been transported back in time. Here you will find the local citizens greeting you as you pass by. You will discover a town that is alive with the history of times long since gone. As you wander on Main Street you will be able to step inside historic buildings that are an intrinsic part of its heritage. Take a casual stroll through the picturesque town for unique shopping, dining and wine tasting experiences.

Attractions

Templeton Historical Museum Society

Incorporated as a nonprofit organization in 1989, the realization of a dream of nearly 25 years earlier. The Horstman house, built by Albert Horstman, a prominent businessman in the 1920s, was donated to the society in 1994 and serves as the museum where local memorabilia and photographs are displayed. Templeton’s original railroad warehouse (behind the house) contains a 1925 Model T in original condition, an antique carriage and other items too large to put into the house. Fairs and festivals

Templeton is host to the annual 4th of July Parade, held every July 4th. Other events throughout the year include concerts in the park, held mid-to-late summer, the Templeton Wine Festival, and the Paso Pinot and Paella Festival.  Annual dates vary. Fresh farm to table adventures

Templeton is an ideal starting or end-of-day spot for touring the back roads on the way to or from your favorite wineries. Small farms along oak lined winding roads have produce stands offering fresh vegetables, fruit, eggs and more.

Seven Angels Cellars

Dreamy wines and beautiful views abound at Seven Angels Cellars on Templeton Rd. The wines are made with a blend of estate-grown grapes and locally sourced grapes from high-tier growers. Utilizing the best quality fruit, the small boutique winery produces its famously exquisite Templeton Gap gold medal-winning wines. Located at 830 Templeton Rd. in Templeton. Peachy Canyon

Peachy Canyon is one of the original family-owned Paso Robles wineries that got its start in the 1980s when the area was not widely known for wine production. It is somewhat unique in that it remains owned and operated by the founding family to this very day. The family has made Peachy Canyon a huge success with the winery ranked in the top 100 wines in the world by Wine Spectator magazine, and its many wines have been ranked with 90-point-plus scores, often for multiple vintages. The most recent accomplishment is being named Winery of the Year at the Central Coast Wine Competition. The tasting room is located at 1480 Bethel Road, Templeton. Templeton Farmer’s Market

The Templeton Farmer’s Market, every Saturday morning from 9 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. is a favorite among locals. Held in Templeton Park on Crocker Street between 5th and 6th streets, vendors offer fresh produce, specialty food products, and unique hand made items. There’s almost always a food truck and other food vendors and the park has plenty of picnic tables for enjoying a freshly prepared  lunch.
