Founded in 2003, Line Shack Winery was the realization of over two decades of Balentine family winemaking experience. With this venture, owner/winemaker team Bob and Daphne Balentine set out to produce affordable, world-class wines from California’s Central Coast, particularly from the new San Antonio Valley AVA in Southern Monterey County. The San Antonio Valley is the site of California’s second mission, Mission San Antonio, where some of the first wine grapes were ever planted in California. This region provides warm days followed by cool nights, enabling fruit to achieve extended hang time and maximize its true varietal characteristics.

Our vineyards are located in the San Antonio Valley, a 1200 foot high Mountain Valley in the heart of the Santa Lucia mountain range and several miles inland from the Pacific Ocean on the Central Coast of California. The region is quickly becoming renowned for the excellent warm-climate Bourdeaux and Rhone grape varieties. The wines produced are intensely flavored, full-bodied reds and whites of exceptional character.

To round out our portfolio, we source small amounts of Pinot Noir and Chardonnay fruit from the cooler Santa Lucia Highlands, also located in Monterey County. All of our wines are made in an approachable style that is both respectful to the varietal and representative of the California South Coast terroir. Located in the heart of the Willow Creek district on the westside of Paso Robles, Pelletiere Estate Vineyard & Winery can be found on a cozy corner on Township Road just off Highway 46w in the beautiful foothills of west Paso. The property has a local history dating back to the late 1890’s. The Pelletiere Estate vineyard, rich in limestone soils was planted in 1993-1996, and is family owned & operated with a commitment to the traditions of fine winemaking and responsible stewardship of its vineyard land for future generations to savor and uphold.

Its south-facing sloped terrain, rocky limestone soils, cool coastal breezes, and diurnal fluctuation in temperature create, above all an estate ideal for wine growing. Here we produce exceptional Italian varietals that honor our Italian heritage and those of our predecessor. Today, 100 percent of Pelletiere Estate wines are sourced from its sustainably-farmed estate-grown Italian varieties which include; Sangiovese, Nebbiolo, Montepulciano, Lagrein, Aglianico, and Primitivo, as well as, our Syrah and Viognier. We are dedicated to meticulous vineyard care, picking at optimum ripeness, and creating elegant Italian-style wines which express the balance and pure flavors of our vineyard terrior.

The history behind Donatoni Winery is apparent to any visitor to this Westside Paso Robles winery. Memorabilia and photographs from the owners’ history in the airline industry cover the walls and adorn the tasting bar. And, owners Hank Donatoni and Sandi Baird are happy to elaborate on the story that the tasting room theme tells. Though they are retired now, Hank and Sandi’s connection to the airline business is still strong. Many of their friends were once co-workers, and even members of the aviation community they have never met find their way to Donatoni through their shared histories. Templeton Chamber of Commerce History

The original Templeton Board of Trade was formed in 1913 to promote trade and commerce, for the promotion of work, and for advertising to encourage growth in the community.
In May of 1979, a town meeting was held to determine whether or not to revitalize the Board of Trade. It was overwhelmingly accepted and a new organization known as the Templeton Chamber of Commerce – Board of Trade was formed. This was in keeping with the original historical name, but also realizing the need to be a member of a nationally recognized organization such as the Chamber of Commerce.

The organization consists of local businesses, professionals and individual members who are committed to promoting economic vitality, improving quality of life and encouraging cooperation within our community.

Templeton History

Templeton was founded in 1886, when C.H. Phillips of the West Coast Land Company ,sent R.R. Harris to survey 160 acres south of Paso Robles. This acreage was to be laid out in business and residential lots and 5-12 acre parcels for a town named “Crocker” after the famous San Francisco financier.  When it was discovered there was already a town by that name, this settlement became “Templeton,” named after Crocker’s son. This is the only town along the El Camino Real named for a person, rather than a saint.

Templeton was fathered by the railroad, built on the main highway between San Francisco and Los Angeles and, in its heyday, had a reputation for its saloon brawls and wild ‘n’ rough street scenes. The town was the end of the line for passengers coming from the north. Tourists disembarked here and took a stagecoach south to San Luis Obispo.
In 1891, the railroad continued south and the town was reduced to a flag stop and is now a bypass. In 1897, there was a great fire which burned most of the business district. The town was rebuilt, but not to its former glory.

In 1965, Josephine Gilfillan wrote for the Paso Robles Press a series of pieces on Templeton. Newcomers kept asking, “Why was Templeton was built so close to Paso Robles and Atascadero?” She said, “I wanted to tell them that Templeton came first.”

Today, Templeton is a small, quiet town, with a strong community spirit and a vision to preserve its colorful past.

We craft wines that represent a stylistic bridge between the Old and New worlds, capturing the finesse associated with European wines while celebrating the bold natural flavors of our estate vineyards in Paso Robles.

Four Lanterns resides on 35 acres on the west side of Paso Robles in the formidable Willow Creek AVA. This area, renowned for hot days, cool nights and soil riddled with calcareous stone, provides a perfect environment for making exceptional wines. Jackie’s Vineyard, located in the Templeton Gap AVA, is the location where their Bordeaux varietals grow.

Specializing in wine varietals native to France’s Rhone Valley & Bordeaux regions, Four Lanterns focuses on making estate wines, capitalizing on the natural strengths of their land. The resulting wines are beautifully complex, balanced, and wonderful to drink.

Lago Giuseppe is a new family owned – and run – winery and event site situated along the rolling hills of Highway 46 West. We are nestled in the heart of the Paso Robles wine country, between Highway 101 and Pacific Coast Highway 1.

A truly unique location, Lago Giuseppe Event Site, La Piana, offers a private, natural setting for your special event. Our picturesque event site is hidden on the banks of a small lake, surrounded by the tranquility of a waterfall, mature oak trees and our estate vineyard. Lovingly called “Middle Earth” by the locals, it feels like you are in another world amidst the lush foliage, surrounded by natural beauty.

Father and daughter Lloyd Messer and Dana Brown realized their dream of finding a place to express their passion for wine in 2000, when they established Calcareous Vineyards on one of the highest limestone plateaus on Paso Robles’ west side. Both Lloyd and Dana, experienced wine distributors in their native Iowa, recognized that the west side of Paso Robles had potential to produce world class wines. Their acquisition of 342 acres atop solid calcareous rock reaching 1,800 feet above sea level confirmed their dedication to producing the highest quality, terroir driven wines possible. It is a labor of love to cultivate fruit on this challenging land, but the reward is immediately apparent when tasting the wines. Calcareous has for over a decdade now, produced a collection of world–class blends and varietal wines that exhibit Paso Robles’ claim to being “distinct, different”. Lloyd passed on in 2006, and Dana advances their vision with the help of her sister Erika.

Our modern winery is both an efficient example of winemaking and a warm place for you, your friends and family to discover some truly unique wines. Your tasting appointment will be personal, educational and fun.
