Four Lanterns resides on 35 acres on the west side of Paso Robles in the formidable Willow Creek AVA. This area, renowned for hot days, cool nights and soil riddled with calcareous stone, provides a perfect environment for making exceptional wines. Jackie’s Vineyard, located in the Templeton Gap AVA, is the location where their Bordeaux varietals grow.
Specializing in wine varietals native to France’s Rhone Valley & Bordeaux regions, Four Lanterns focuses on making estate wines, capitalizing on the natural strengths of their land. The resulting wines are beautifully complex, balanced, and wonderful to drink.
Vino Vargas is nestled in the rolling hills of the Northwest Paso Robles region. Our modern winery is both an efficient example of winemaking and a warm place for you, your friends and family to discover some truly unique wines. Your tasting appointment will be personal, educational and fun. This means that you get to interact with our winemaker Pedro or our sommelier Vicky and really talk about the wines, winemaking philosophy or just sit back and enjoy the magnificent view.

Our vineyards are located six miles north of Paso Robles, CA, near the eastern slope of the Santa Lucia Mountains. The mainly southern-facing, rolling hill vineyards are planted on well-drained, moderately deep, silty clay loam soils. Hot summer days and cool nights provide ideal growing conditions for the vines. Eos, the Greek Goddess of Dawn, opened the gates of heaven each morning allowing the Sun to rise. Fiercely passionate, she was cursed by Aphrodite for having an affair with Ares. Her punishment was an insatiable appetite for young men. At Eos – the winery – we’re just as passionate as our namesake, but our insatiable appetite is more wholesomely geared towards the production of great wines. Since the mid-1980s, we have built our reputation on dense reds, complex whites and luscious dessert wines from great AVAs throughout the state.
We are a tiny winery located on a Westside hilltop in Paso Robles. We craft wines that are a fascinating marriage of power and elegance. We take what comes from the vineyard and keep it simple and pure. Our grapes are always encouraged to speak for themselves, and if you treat them with the utmost of care, they will always quietly reveal from where they came. We follow old-world farming and winemaking techniques and our boutique vineyard is purposely geared to produce tiny yields of highly flavoured fruit. We use minimal intervention during the winemaking process, and let the fruit expose its story within the glass.
There are only two of us, and we personally handcraft all of our wines in extremely small lots. Production is low in quantity, and large on quality. Wine is our artistry; one of our greatest creative pleasures. You will discover our attention to detail and exclusive signature within each and every wine; flavours that are deeply intense, velvety rich, and thoroughly elegant. We strive to make the kind of wines that leave an enduring memory on your palate.

As you enter The Hunt Cellars Tasting room, the fun wine experience begins, as you are greeted with either live music or our white grand player piano. Stroll up to our Cabernet Bar, where our warm and friendly staff are eager to lead you through a lighthearted and fun sampling of our wines. You may also choose to sip your wines on our spacious 1200 foot veranda, smoke your favorite cigar under our pavilion or simply stroll through our lush inviting landscaped lawns. As native New Orleanians, Tealy and Greg grew up in a culture of great jazz and good food. French wine was the principal accompliment to New Orleans cuisine at the time. Living in Europe during the 70’s and 80’s, enhanced our wine experience and appreciation of European wines. In the 90’s we returned to California and developed a greater appreciation of California wines.
After working for an international company for thirty years, we decided to start a second career dedicated to growing grapes and making great wines at affordable prices that enhance the culinary experience. After searching for a vineyard, we settled on the Central Coast of California in Paso Robles in 2007. It is still a place where the vineyard farmer and the wine maker are the same person and winemaking starts in the vineyard.
Ray and Pam Derby moved to the Central Coast area in the early 1990’s with the intention of retiring. In 1998, they purchased their first vineyard property, now known as Derbyshire Vineyard and their thoughts of retirement were replaced by the inspiration of being a part of the wine world. In the years following, Ray next acquired the historic Laura’s Vineyard (in east Paso) and then the Westside property, now called the Derby Vineyard. Needless to say, their plans of retirement never came to fruition.
After experiencing nearly a decade as a grape grower, the potential strengths of each property became apparent and in 2008, Ray and Pam launched Derby Wine Estates. They are extremely selective in terms of what goes into the bottle under the Derby label. The commitment to the land is appreciable, with only 20 hand-selected acres being used to provide fruit for their own brand. Grapes from the remainder (some 90%of their total acreage) are sold to some of the finest wine producers in California.
Sarzotti Winery and Vineyard serves as the Sarzotti family’s vehicle for sharing what they love to do—make wine. The winery is owned and run by the Sarzotti family, and they see it as a way to do what their family has been doing for generations: to make wine that can be enjoyed with friends and family.
Jim Sarzotti and his wife Cheryl as well as their son James and his wife Jenne, all live and work on the Sarzotti Winery and Vineyards property in beautiful Templeton, CA. James and Jenne’s children also live on the property. The Sarzottis have farming in their blood—fifteen years ago they relocated to Paso Robles from Southern California at James’ suggestion. James knew that his father had always loved to grow grapes and make wine, and saw in Paso Robles an opportunity to do this together as a family.

Our tasting room is situated in the heart of the picturesque Edna Valley on California’s Central Coast, surrounded by vineyards and rolling hills.
We specialize in Zinfandels that express the natural qualities of our historic estate vineyard in the Arroyo Grande Valley.
Bovino Vineyards and Winery is located in beautiful Templeton, California. Our estate vineyards are centrally situated in the Templeton Gap which is nestled between the Paso Robles Willow Creek and the El Pomar Districts. The Templeton Gap consists of a series of mountain passes created by rivers and creeks in the Santa Lucia Range, through which marine air flows into the region.
The Templeton Gap is the coolest climate of the Paso Robles sub-appellations and receives approximately 20 inches of precipitation per year. The water gap allows marine influences to enter the region which moderate the daily temperatures and increase the amount of time that it takes for grapes to ripen. The elevations in the area range from 700 to 1,800 feet above sea level with the majority of the wineries located between 800 and 940 feet.
The soils were created by alluvium of the Monterey Formation and are largely made up of silty and clay loams. There are some older soils produced from the Paso Robles Formation that are more cemented and shaly. Grapes produced in this region include Cabernet Sauvignon, Carignane, Charbono, Chardonnay, Grenache, Merlot, Petite Sirah, Pinot Gris, Pinot Noir, Primitivo, Sangiovese, Syrah, Tempranillo, Viognier and Zinfandel.
