Nestled in the heart of Edna Valley, overlooking rows of vineyards and a 40-mile stretch of the Santa Lucia mountain range is Autry Cellars. Owner and artisan winemaker Steve Autry and his tasting room staff pour wine varietals, brandy, and grappa borne from some of the best grapes selected from across the region, along with his signature apple brandy.

Autry Cellars’ informal, unpretentious tasting room is, “decorated in early American warehouse” style, jokes Autry. However, don’t be deceived by the modest décor. In this tasting room visitors can experience superb wine varietals ranging from best selling Petite Sirah to Malbec and Viognier. In addition, you can taste gold medal best-in-class grappa and silver medal winning American oak and Hungarian oak brandies, awarded by the California Mid-State Fair.

With over 18 years of winemaking experience, Autry became a commercial winemaker 10 years ago and a fully licensed brandy distiller in 2012. A visit to Autry Cellars is about discovery. He says people who visit his tasting room, “come for the wine and discover the brandy.” At Autry Cellars, visitors gain access to impressive wines and brandies that are available exclusively in the tasting room. Every wine is unique, and each is produced only in small quantities.

Rocky Creek Cellars is a small, family owned and operated winery. We are located on the southern slope of York Mountain and bordered by Rocky Creek. Stephen Ross was founded on the principles of working with quality vineyards and hand-crafting the best wines possible from the grapes they yield. The winery started small, grew as financial resources allowed, and we stuck to our principles in winemaking and business – great, small production wines, solid business practices, and a nice, engaging place to work for our crew.

The Rotta tasting room and winery is located in the Templeton hills, and features a unique blend of history and modern winemaking technology. One thing that’s definitely staying is the old redwood sign with “Rotta Winery” neatly hand stenciled in white paint. “I painted that sign when I was ten years old,” remembered Giubbini.

We Olive was born from passion; a passion for locally sourced, healthy, delicious, artisan extra virgin olive oil! It was nearly a decade ago when we first noticed an increase in the consumer’s demand for this type of product; so, coupled with this knowledge and our own passion, the first We Olive store was opened.

Opening that first store was a dream come true for us. We had officially created a place where local growers, chefs, and guests alike could experience, learn about, and purchase the California-made olive oil we’d come to know and love. Founded in 2003, Line Shack Winery was the realization of over two decades of Balentine family winemaking experience. With this venture, owner/winemaker team Bob and Daphne Balentine set out to produce affordable, world-class wines from California’s Central Coast, particularly from the new San Antonio Valley AVA in Southern Monterey County. The San Antonio Valley is the site of California’s second mission, Mission San Antonio, where some of the first wine grapes were ever planted in California. This region provides warm days followed by cool nights, enabling fruit to achieve extended hang time and maximize its true varietal characteristics.

Our vineyards are located in the San Antonio Valley, a 1200 foot high Mountain Valley in the heart of the Santa Lucia mountain range and several miles inland from the Pacific Ocean on the Central Coast of California. The region is quickly becoming renowned for the excellent warm-climate Bourdeaux and Rhone grape varieties. The wines produced are intensely flavored, full-bodied reds and whites of exceptional character.

To round out our portfolio, we source small amounts of Pinot Noir and Chardonnay fruit from the cooler Santa Lucia Highlands, also located in Monterey County. All of our wines are made in an approachable style that is both respectful to the varietal and representative of the California South Coast terroir. Living the Dream

Pinot Noir is the driving passion of Marc Goldberg and Maggie D’Ambrosia, husband and wife owners of Windward Vineyard. Windward Vineyard is dedicated exclusively to producing Burgundian style Pinot Noir. To make the “Great American Pinot Noir,” one that rivals those produced in Burgundy, is the couple’s passion.

Marc and Maggie purchased and planted the vineyard in 1989 based upon the terroir and microclimate of the Paso Robles Westside. The combination of the cooling Pacific breezes, the calcareous soil and the 50 degree daily drop in temperature produce exemplary Pinot Noir.

With the Burgundian French term, “Monopole” vision of total control over both the vineyard and the winemaking, the 15-acre vineyard is planted to four notable French clones.

Windward Vineyard is dedicated to putting Paso Robles’ Pinot Noir back on the map, following in the footsteps of two significant figures in California wine history. In the late 1960’s, consultant Andre Tchelistcheff supervised the Paso Robles Hoffman Mountain Ranch property of Dr. Stanley Hoffman. In the 1970’s, Hoffman’s Pinot Noirs gained worldwide recognition, and were drinking well over 20 years later.

Since the 1993 debut in 1995, each of Windward’s SOLD OUT vintages have achieved inspiring acclaim, particularly within the community of wine aficionados who appreciate the layered complexity of Burgundian styled Pinot Noir. Marc explains. “We knew we could count on the vineyard to produce formidable fruit. It is living up to our expectations as it matures and continues to develop layered complexity.”

Seven Angels Cellars is a family owned, boutique winery located in Templeton, CA.  We began making wine in 2009 with a small production of Petite Sirah.  Since then we have increased production to around 3000 cases per year.  Greg Martin is the owner/winemaker and Pamela Martin is the other owner and handles social media, food pairings, wine club and club events and the website.  The story behind the name came from our passion for family.  We have seven children in our blended family, our 7 angels.

We both grew up loving wine.  Greg grew up in a rural area of California with neighbors who grew wine grapes.  He spent a lot of time learning about the entire process from the vine to the bottle from his patient neighbor.  He continued his interest in wine as a US Coast Guard when he was stationed in the bay area and had easy access to the multitude of wineries in Sonoma and Napa.  Pamela comes from a family of foodies and wine enthusiasts.  She took courses in college in winemaking and learned the biology aspect of wine.  She worked in catering and on TV as a home economist for a cooking show.  Pairing food and wine to create an interesting and delightful balance in a meal has become an obsession for her.

We married in 2008 and started making wine the following year.  We specialize in Rhone blends as well as single varietals.  Greg has his eyes, hands in every aspect of the process from the field to the bottle.  Pamela has the palate and the nose and is instrumental in the blending.

We participate in many non-profit and charity events as our way of giving back.  We are involved with Precious Life Shelter in Los Alamitos, a shelter for homeless pregnant women and Goals for Life, and NFL program for troubled youth.  We are the official wine sponsor for the Congressional Cup held annually at the Long Beach Yacht Club.  We also sponsor the Wooden Boat Festival in Newport Beach each year.

Many of our wines have been recognized by Wine Enthusiast with ratings in the 90’s.  We’ve also received numerous gold medals at California and International wine competitions.  This year we were awarded a gold medal from the mid-state fair for our 2015 Pinot Noir and a gold medal from the Orange County Wine Competition for our 2015 Tempranillo.

We believe in the “less is best” approach to winemaking.  Less manipulation and more natural methods of making our wine.  Greg likes to play with using different kinds of oak in our barrel program.  Our wines are food friendly, approachable in both flavor and price point.  We’d love to share with you more about our methodology, including, why we keep our price point where it is and how we see Seven Angels integrated on an evolved, noteworthy, wine list.

Our vineyards are located six miles north of Paso Robles, CA, near the eastern slope of the Santa Lucia Mountains. The mainly southern-facing, rolling hill vineyards are planted on well-drained, moderately deep, silty clay loam soils. Hot summer days and cool nights provide ideal growing conditions for the vines. They say good fences make good neighbors, but it was a love of wine and winemaking that was the connection between Opolo proprietors Rick Quinn and Dave Nichols.

Their two families have lived side-by-side in Camarillo since 1996. As Nichols remembers, “I knew Rick to say hello to, but that was about it. Then one day, he said to me, ‘Hey Dave, I just planted 10,000 grapevines!’” And so began the evolution of Opolo, one of Paso Robles’ premier labels. Quinn and Nichols have been neighbors in two counties since 1997 when Nichols bought vineyard property adjoining Quinn’s. Together they now own and farm nearly 300 acres of vines on the east and westside of Paso Robles.
